Since opening in the heart of Bangsar in 1999, La Bodega Tapas Bar has come to be known as the "place to hide out". Its warm welcoming atmosphere has seduced a rather dedicated and discerning crowd of regulars and is one of the most established gathering spots for meeting old friends and making new ones whilst savouring a jug of refreshing sangria, delicious tapas, comforting paella, great cocktails and superb Spanish wines!

Tapas, originally an Andalusian custom and now part of the gastronomic culture throught Spain, are an informal style of eating. Spaniards commonly stop at tapas bars after work, before dinner or on the weekends to pass the time with family and friends. The word "tapa" literally means "lid", and the first tapas were slices of bread used to cover glasses of wine or sherry in small shops to keep the flies out. Today's tapas are so popular that often at "tapas time", patrons spend the whole evening nibbling, forgetting to have dinner altogather.
